Let Creative Genius Within bring out the genius in you with the the non-toxic art medium of PAVERPOL a textile hardener that originated in the Netherlands and was introduced to Canada in 2007. This product is water based and has received the AP seal for non-toxicity from the ACMI (Arts and Creative Materials Institute). You just clean your hands and tools with warm water and soap...so you know it's safe to handle. There are endless possibilities with Paverpol. It can make rock-hard materials of fabrics, paper, leather, moss or tree branches. It can even create stone-look figures by combining Paverpol with Art Stone. Paverpol is a simple one coat medium that you can turn fabric (such as your old cotton t-shirt or silk scarf) into an amazing indoor or outdoor piece of art. You simply dip the fabric into Paverpol and wrap around a sturdy base. After two weeks of indoor curing, the object can be place outside. With a little guidance from your workshop leader at Creative Genius Within and Paverpol, your creative genius will be shining brightly in a few hours.
About Creative Genius Within and your Workshop Leader:
My name is Andrea and I was introduced to fabric sculpting by my sister-in-law who posted on her facebook page a sculpture that I couldn't believe that she actually did. For several years she never divulged to me where or who she took the workshop from (I think she wanted to keep this a secret). All I knew was that she made a sculpture using a t-shirt and thus I started exercising my googling skills to obtain more information. I found my first instructor in Niagara-on-the-Lake (Tamara Plugers) and fell in love with "paverpolling"; I loved it so much, I subsequently became one of the first certified instructors in southern Ontario (Toronto/GTA/York Region) under the guidance of master trainer and Paverpol guru, Annet Holierhoek . Over the years I have been fortunate to participate in Master Classes with the great "mother" of Paverpol, Jossy de Roode and also the extremely talented Lise St. Cyr. I`m also lucky to call upon my mentor, the fabulous Marylou Devine for her technical expertise and my "Paverpol sister", Gwen Rousseau of Fabrilicious Creations for inspiration. In addition to "paverpolling", I worked full-time for several large Canadian conglomerates and Global organizations, and am a mother of two amazing kids. When you can't find me at work or paverpolling, you can find me in the pilates studio, yoga studio, skiing or scuba diving. .
